How do you measure your weight loss?

So I'm sure some of you know that I have put myself in a diet plan this summer. I went from 153 pounds to 143 pounds in more than a month. This a great achievement for girl who once didn't work out at all. Lately I have been weighing my body on a scale to know how many pounds I have lost; however, I'm waiting till the end of the summer to shop for new clothes, which I think will be the true indicator on how many pounds I have lost. This makes me nervous because what if I'm still in the same dress size as before, which then will probably have me questioning everything. Did I really lose weight? Is my weight scale broken? Is it all muscle? I'm crossing my fingers.

Well with all that said, I want to know you do you measure your weight loss?

Weight scale is how I control my weight, but also by the way I feel between me and my body.

I go by the fit of the clothes; I do like to know the numbers however I don't focus on them to much. If I feel good about myself mentally and like how I look after all the workouts that's what I focus on.

I can usually gauge weight loss by the fit of my clothes, but also sad to say I'm a slave to the scale.

*Thank you. My real name... is plain... Jane Jones. (Alice - Closer)

Congratulations! I always measure weight loss by the way my clothes fit. Remember sometimes the flux in weight can actually be from muscle, at least thats what I've been told. Muscle weighs more than fat! So keep it up!!!

I have been up and down the last 5 years (2 babies and all), so I am always trying on clothes to see if they fit yet, or if they are too big. The pants I wore today were too big...the ones I wore yesterday...a bit too tight...

Great Job first of all on your weight loss! yea I've gained a couple pounds lately and i'm in the process of losing it as well Smiling
but i do notice it by the fit of clothes, even if you stay around the same size, you will def. notice the fit and overall look cause fat just makes you look lumpy and unshapely but if you weight the same but are fit and solid it looks great on your body. Just the feeling of being active and healthy is such an accomplishment tho!!

by inches its great for the stomach area because there is some days were you feel like you have lost a lot of belly fat and you stop working out but measuring with inches knocks you back to reality.

I chose: The fit of the clothes on my body after working out for weeks.
I eat more less now and do sports, so from size s I get xs. I don't care about my weight in numbers. Smiling

Congrats on the 10lb loss! Be careful I lost 20lbs last year and then I slowly got back into my bad habits and have gained 15 of those pounds back . I usually go by the way my clothes fit. on the scale 's suck!

I go by scale and not by clothes cuz generally I wear a XS-S no matter what. I can fluctuate a little bit and still be able to fit into my clothes normally (I just personal issues with the way my body looks in my clothes, but I'm sure other people don't pay as much attention to it as I do...)

So yeah, the scale tells me if I've gained or lost because my clothes don't really help. I work out almost everyday (lifting and cardio) so I'm sure some of it is muscle anyways.

If you're down 10 lbs. you will not be wearing the same size, trust me! I weigh myself once a week, but mostly go by how my clothes feel.

And congratulations on the weight loss and working out. Good for you!

You probably lost water weight, the first 10 pounds usually are that. Keep working though! Cardio and weight lifting. And remember, muscle is more dense than fat, so you may actually be gaining pounds on the scale, but you are really losing fat. My trainer always says "Weight loss is 80% diet, 20% exercise" so keep that diet in check!

I measure my success by how clothes fit. I put on a pair of tight jeans and keep on working til they are eventually loose!
